　　 PIUG　　 

　　Patent Information Users Group, Inc. (PIUG) is an influential American association for users of patent infomation application. The mission of PIUG is to support, assist, improve and enhance the success of patent information professionals through leadership, education, communication, advocacy and networking. PIUG much more focuses on academic research rather than commercial service. The members of PIUG are composed of patent information service providers and end users.

　　

　　PIUG 2011 Annual Conference

　　There were 200-250 people attending the 2011 PIUG conference, most of whom are librarians and information searchers of IP departments in large enterprises. 20 exhibitors attended the conference, including Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis, and CAS,etc. There were also a few corporations not engaged in patent literature database and a company providing translation service. They displayed their database and lattest functions for their end users.

　　

　　Cooperation between IPPH and PIUG

　　IPPH and PIUG have been partners since 2010. We have cooperated by means of exchanging exhibition booths at our annual conferences. Anthony Trippe, president of PIUG, was invited for speech at 2010 Patnet Information Annual Conference of China (PIAC) hosted by SIPO and organized by IPPH. Meanwhile, representatives from IPPH were also invited at the PIUG Annual Conference in 2010 and 2011.
